Looking for the perfect sunset? This is the post you were waiting for!
Now that you’ve just landed on the most beautiful island in the world, you may be wondering where to enjoy the best sunsets in Mallorca, those that take our breath away. Well... your wish is our command! Because today we’ve compiled a list of the 5 top places to watch the sun go down close up, while you enjoy a moment of peace after a long day.
1. Sa Foradada: its impressive sunsets have made this place one of the most famous in Mallorca, both in summer and winter. Located in the municipality of Deià (one of the most charming villages on the island), Sa Foradada is a rock with a hole in it, formed by the wind over the years, which juts out from the sea. This natural phenomenon gives the place its charm. To see the sunset at Sa Foradada, you can get here by car (it takes about 50 minutes from The Boc Hostels).
2. Costa de la Calma: here you will enjoy some of the liveliest sunsets in Mallorca, without a doubt. The reason? There’s a beach bar, which has the same name as the place, "Costa de la Calma", where you can have a good time with your friends while sipping a delicious cocktail. It’s also very close to Palma (only 25 minutes by car), although you can also get there by public transport (combine bus number 7 or number 14 with bus number 107 to get there), but, take our advice and don’t miss out a sunset there!
3. Es Carnatge: located in Can Pastilla, very close to Palma, this place is absolutely perfect for watching the best sunset in the city. Being so close to the capital, it’s one of the busiest areas, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the peace and quiet that a perfect sunset can bring. If you go by bus, you should take number 35.
4. Cala Blava: less than half an hour from the centre of Palma (18 minutes by car), this is one of the most charming places on the island. Located in the municipality of Llucmajor, there’re no sunbeds or beach bars there, so you will find absolute calm as you watch the sun go down. We recommend you to swim while you’re watching the sunset, it is a unique experience. The bus number 504 will take you to Cala Blava in 35 minutes.
5. Cala Pi. And also, in Llucmajor, although a little further south on the island, we find one of the most beautiful beaches to enjoy the sunset, Cala Pi. Once there, we recommend that you watch the sunset next to a tower about 200 metres from the entrance to the bay. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can go down to the beach and swim in its crystal-clear waters. The place is accessible by car (39 min from The Boc Hostels) and about an hour by bus (number 505).
Now that you know some of the best places to watch the sunset in Mallorca, are you going to miss them?
