When searching for Mallorca online you will probably find a stunning cove surrounded by dramatic cliffs with white sand and crystal-clear water.
So, if that’s what you’re looking for when spending a day on the beach when in Palma, you should definitely head to Illetas and Cala Comtessa. Located on the coast close to Palma but into western direction, both of these coves lay next to each other. You can catch the bus number 4 and it will bring you to Illetas in about 50 minutes. You’ll be able to rent a sunbed and parasol for the day and even have a quick snack at the stalls right at the beach or at the main restaurant called Balneario Illetas.
Another 50-minute bus ride option is to visit Palmanova for the day. This wide, long white-sanded beach is an absolute paradise on earth. Located in the southwest of Mallorca, it is a fun, relaxed beach to spend the day and even practice some water sports, as you can rent kayaks and other gadgets at the beach directly.
Parasols and sun loungers are also available if you like to and the promenade is filled with all kinds of food options going all the way from McDonalds to fresh fish and seafood.
When getting to Cala Major, you’ll find a nice, beautiful beach of about 200 metres length and 80 metres width. Its white sand and shallow waters are definitely appealing to anyone who’s looking to enjoy a beach day. It has easy access, showers and toilets and you can reach it from Boc Hostels in about 35 minutes by hopping on the bus number 4.
